Mark, also encountered as MKII and AdamW, is a traveller between times and universes. The three names belong to the same person, though whether they are aliases, successive incarnations or versions whose paths have crossed remains unresolved. He answers to each. He is less forthcoming about which he answered to first.

Names and passages

Mark is the name attached to the human likeness on record. MKII suggests a second iteration; no reliable account establishes what came before it. AdamW appears along other stretches of the same journey. None of the names provides a dependable chronology.

Accounts of his passages disagree about departures and arrivals. He sometimes recognises people who have yet to meet him, and returns to places whose histories no longer agree with his memory. Whether the traveller has changed, or the universe has, is rarely clear to those who remain behind.

His place of origin, the means of crossing and the number of crossings are unknown. Asked where he is from, he has been known to give an answer that would be more useful to someone asking when.
